On our way back from Florida we decided to spend the night in Memphis. To say that me and my husband LOVE Memphis would be an understatement. We have been many times but this was the first time with a baby in tow, so this trip was all about her, ok maybe not all about her.
We got there right in time for lunch, so we decided to check out my husband’s favorite place to eat fried chicken, Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken. This place is a little to spicy for me, but I manage. For Elsie I had to take all the skin off, so she could eat it. I knew it would have too much spice for her. There are several locations in Memphis, and if you get there for lunch or dinner expect to wait. But it is worth it.
After this we checked in to our hotel and did some shopping. Where we live we don’t have a Burlington’s, so when we are in a town with one it is a must stop.
For Dinner we hit up our favorite BBQ joint… charlie vergos’ rendezvous. We love this place so much each time we go we buy their bbq sauce and seasoning spice. This is a must go, every time we are in the area.
We were then off to bed early, as the next day we were going to the Memphis zoo.
We got there right when they opened and where the first ones there. It seemed like it was only us, until we were about ready to leave, then people started coming in. They had many exhibits and is by far one of the better zoos I have been to. They have a fast food restaurant where one wall sees into the monkey exhibit. Baby E’s favorite part was the birds and the monkeys. My favorite was seeing the panda’s. There are very few zoos in the United States where you can see a panda and this happens to be one of them.
Elsie and this monkey started carrying on a conversation. They enjoyed each other’s company.
After this, we were on our way home.
